I have been a Yoga practitioner for over 35 years, which has provided balance and well-being throughout my life. This has developed over many years into a deep interest in the body-mind connection and a formative interest in the research surrounding the neuroscience and plasticity of the brain’s ability to be shaped towards greater well-being and peace.
After spending 30 years as a Practicing Architect and experienced Professional, the last decade has seen a natural weaving together of my body-centred awareness practices, such as Ashtanga Yoga and more recently Yin Yoga, with my deepening knowledge and practice of Mindfulness Meditation practices, to support myself in dealing with the pressures of daily life, stress, grief and my own mental well-being.
Over the last 6 years I have trained to become a Mindfulness teacher with the Mindfulness Training Institute Australia and New Zealand (MTIANZ) through the accredited Training Pathway and have participated in 8-week courses in MBSR, MBCT and Self-Compassion.
In 2016, I began teaching MBSR courses and have been teaching MBSR and MBCT 8-week courses with Sue Dykes at Mindfulness Auckland and it has given me great joy to become a part of the planning and management team there.
